November 28th
Quite a mild month but we did have two night frosts on the 20th and 21st.
It was only today that I cut down the Cannas which are in pots, and stored them in the greenhouse, they were still flowering.
The plants in Lyn's front garden have been cut down to half their height, really just to give a bit of protection from any hard frosts we might get later.

We had a week in North Norfolk a couple of weeks ago, we visited Bressingham Gardens. They were strimming all the herbaceous plants down to more or less soil level.
We thought it was a bit harsh, but we could see new shoots that were already forming on plants that had been strimmed about a week before. I guess it is down to time and money in such a large garden.

We are not really into shrubs and trees, more because we don't have a garden large enough to accommodate them. But in the 'Foggy Hollow' and 'Autumn' gardens at Bressingham, the colours were fantastic. We only saw two other visitors in the garden the whole time we were there.

Not much to photograph in our gardens at the moment, but Spring bulbs are already beginning to show shoots above the soil. Can't wait to see them, but I guess at our age! we shouldn't wish our time away.

Our open day dates for 2016 are now on our home page. This year we are not open in the mornings of our open days.
